Hey there, I am coming to this forum because I have problems with the text tool since the latest update of premiere pro.

Everytime I want to type some text on the textlayer, it does not let me type anything at all!
If I type "h" for example the hand tool is triggered, but it does not show the "h" in the textbox.
I need help quickly please, because I am working daily with this feature and can't work like this.... 😞

Dear @Abby_ca,

A product team member indicated that the issue was fixed in 24.3 and later. I'll move this thread to the discussions board for further troubleshooting. Please let the community know if you or anyone on the thread needs help with this issue.

Thanks,

Kevin

I'm having the same issue on 24.3. I can create an essential graphics layer but when I input text hotkey actions are triggered instead of text input when I have the text tool and the text layers selected.

Resolved by switching from wireless Logitech keyboard to Apple Magic Keyboard (currently directly plugged in).
