Hi. I 'm a video editor and I love editing my videos using the transcribe and edit feature in the latest premier pro. I have done this multiple times, but for some reason, today for this particular footage and audio file, Premier Pro keeps auto-transcribing them into different languages.
I have the settings in auto-detect language and auto-transcribe into English (UK). The video file and accompanying audio file of the same footage are in English, yet it's auto-transcribed the video file in Mandarin and then the audio file of the same footage in Taiwanese.
It's me speaking in the video and I'm a native English speaker. I have quit the program, restarted the computer and started a new project and sequence, but every time I upload these files into Premier, it transcribes them into these languages.
I filmed another video on the same SD card on the same day and transcribed that file into English. Similarly, I recorded the audio using Audition, and I filmed and recorded several videos that day, and none of those files are having the issue.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I have just finished editing another video from footage from the same SD card a couple of hours ago and didn't have this issue.
Hi, while the language detection usually is pretty acurate - there are rare cases where it can predict the wrong language. In these cases you can either re-transcribe the file manually (right-click it in the project panel and select Re-Transcribe) or turn off auto detection of language. If all your content is in English, I'd suggest to just use english as the default language and not use the language auto detection.
Please let me know if this helps with your issue.

What language is the clip? What language does it try to use?
Does the manual re-transcribe work?

What version of PR are you using? What OS?
What is set in your preferences? Edit -> Preferences -> Transcription. Is auto-detection on? What is the default language?
In the Project Panel, if you right-click a clip that showed the problem, pick re-transcribe, and set the language as English, what happens when you transcribe?
