Premiere Pro update to 22.6.2 from 22.1.2 and my rendered timeline won't work

After looking at the newer features of Adobe, I thought I might update because they seem neat. After doing so and starting my project, I encountered slower render times when I rendered in to out, slower timelines when scrubbing through. When I wanted to render a 10-second part on my TL, it took forever compared to before. The green rendered part wouldn't playback yet the yellow unrendered part was playing normally. It totally screwed up my workflow. I reverted back to 22.1.2 and it works as normal. I took it further and updated it to 23.0 and the same issue persisted.

I work on a 2021 MacBook Pro 16GB Ram M1 Pro with a 10-core CPU and 14-core GPU, and it's a monster when it comes to editing and has had no problems. My footage is 4k 60fps and in the past, I worked on many 4k6ofps projects on 22.2.1 and it was fine.

Being said, did anyone else have this issue with the rendered sequence, the bar being green, and not having it playback yet the yellow bar would play fine on 22.6.2 or 23.0? Adobe is really disappointing me with these updates and this is one huge reason why I never update. Thankfully I saved my project and can complete it.

Hey there,

Sorry about the issue. Could you try creating a new project and check if the playback is as expected? Are you having this issue with specific type of media files? Please share your file properties (Project Panel > Right-click on media > Properties). Also, please try clearing you media cache files and check if that makes any difference. Please note that generating media cache files would take some time.

Thanks,

Ishan
