Premiere Pro (ver 22.4.0 build 57) Loses Changes To Shape Mask

I am working on a project in Premiere Pro ver 22.4.0 build 57, and after saving my work in editing vector points in a shape mask, the changes are not apparent when I next open the project.  I have been resorting to opening the Auto-Save files, which are successful, but, for some reason, when I do any additional edits, they are not saved.  Could this be a memory issue, or is there any limit on the number of edits you can make to the shape mask vector points?
