Hey, Y'all. I have been through hours of tech support with Adobe/Premiere and Apple over the last 10 days. Both EXCELLENT cusotmer service experiences. They both point to the error below as my memory suck. My Premiere projects are all give the error: "Video Filter Missing: Blackmagic RAW." I have a paid version of BRAW Studio. I just had the opposite experience on a call with Black Magic tech support. Basically "That is Adobe's problem, not mine." What is confusing is that the Filter is missing from the PROJECT File, not from the system. If Adobe and Apple are correct, this filter issue is what is ramping up the memory requirements - resulting in very slow processing, and Forced Quits during exports because my "System has run out of Application Memory." Im running an M3 MAX 128MB RAM with a 2TB drive, so there should be absolutely no memory issues. HELP?!?!
Thanks @R Neil Haugen ! I don't check this forum everyday, it's nice to have the direct notification with my name !
ST!LL FR@NK what is the name of the "missing filter" ? If it is one with "braw" or "blackmagic" in the name then I think we could help you, just follow the next guidelines:
Switching the project by converting it to BRAW Studio should fix the issue. It is described here: https://www.autokroma.com/blog/How-to-convert-your-project-to-BRAW-Studio
Note: BRAW Studio FREE (without license)

Which BRAW plugin are you using, the BM one or the Autokroma one?
And Autokroma provides by far the best support for BRAW use in Premiere, whether you use their plugin or the BM one. So have you checked Autokroma's website for their many articles on issues and how to solve them?
There's a staffer for Autokroma who occasionally posts here on BRAW questions, they might see this and pop in.

@Nicolas from Autokroma is the staffer ... hoping he sees this.

Note: BRAW Studio FREE (without license) offers the same features than the Blackmagic Plugin, but it also includes bug fixed and improvements. So you don't need necessary to buy a Premium license. More info about FREE vs Premium here: https://www.autokroma.com/blog/BRAW-Studio-FREE-vs-Premium

Thank you, @Nicolas from Autokroma I just got off of my 3rd Adobe tech call today. The Blackmagic RAW was reinstalled today- so the error went away (Video Filter Missing: Blackmagic RAW), but I'm still having the memory suck issue during export. All plug ins have just now been removed in hopes that a reinstall of Blackmagic 3.6 solves the problem. (I have a paid version of BRAW Studio - also uninstalled as of now) It sounds like there there may a conflict between versions? I may somehow NOT have downloaded the lasest version today? Just trying this next, without Studio.

I'll try your converting project to BRAW Studio once I get reinstalled if the issue remains. THANK YOU!

Greetings @R Neil Haugen and @Nicolas from Autokroma Happy Holidays! It is almost a year later, and I still have the error message popping up. I have just lived with it, but now it is become a hassle to collaborate, and I am super concerned what will happen when it comes time to get a DCP created. How do I change my Premiere project from BRAW Studio to just using the plug in, please? No matter who makes the file, I get the error attached when I open it. Since I do not use the Studio very much, I think it is just time to abandon it, if possible. Many thanks.

You use one or the other. BlackMagic freebie or Autokroma Studio. Always.
If you open an older project using "the other one", follow the instructions on the Autokroma site for fixing wrong plug-in problems.

Thank you. I definitely understand it is one or the other. This glitch occurred when they had a bug months ago. All per Nicolas instructions: The filter was removed. Studio was installed and the project was treated as instructed. Believe me, I went through dozens of phone calls and emails on this. Nothing worked for me. I just cant find instructions on how to revert a project back to the filter only - NOT Studio - when to uninstall Studio/ install fileter etc.

Hello ST!LL FR@NK,
Did you try to update BRAW Studio to the latest version ? (3.3.6) If not, you can update here.
Otherwise, your error tells that at least once the project has loaded the "Blackmagic RAW" plugin, and as it has been uninstalled after that, it shows this message because the "Source Settings" effect, coming with the plugin is still applied on at least one of your .braw Project Item.
If you say that you already tried to convert the project with the BRAW Studio Panel (From the Blackmagic plugin to BRAW Studio) ans you still have the issue, then could you please send us your .prproj (without media) at braw_studio[at]autokroma.com ? Maybe there is an issue in our convert scritp letting one/multiple media with this effect applied. It would help us to fix this if there is an issue.
Otherwise, I advise against returning to the Blackmagic RAW Plugin. Your .braw color change (BRAW Studio Source Settings changes) will be lost, and you could suffer other issues.
If you still want to not use BRAW Studio anymore and return to the Blackmagic RAW Plugin, here is how to do. DO NOT install the Blackmagic RAW plugin and DO NOT uninstall BRAW Studio.
Remember that if you have any issue, we can help you ! We generally quickly answer if you contact us at braw_studio[at]autokroma.com !
Best,
Nicolas from Autokroma

This is not working. I can view the BRAW files just fine outside of Premiere Pro. I have the BRAW Studio which is asking for money, and I have the 4.2 Blackmagic BRAW installed for the latest source file viewing, and it still hasn't fixed it. I don't even know why BMP plugin isn't working, and I've tried to install that too. I've even started a new project to try and activate the reinstalled video filter source files in Window -> Extensions, and it still doesn't work. I've wasted a day by trying to see where I was last up to with my edit that has taken years. Not happy.

First, you cannot run either BRAW plug-in with the other installed. Autokroma lists that right near the top of their detailed information.
So if you have both the BM and Autokroma plug-ins installed, delete at least one. Though I'd suggest removing both, rebooting, then installing one or the other.
I found the BlackMagic plug-in to be constantly a pain, and the small fee from Autokroma was well worth all the extra options and the total reliability I've had.
Autokroma also has a free version of their plug-in and you are welcome to use it. The extra options I appreciate are not included in the free version, but it is fully functional.
And Autokroma even provides the best support for the BlackMagic plug-in. So I strongly suggest going to their site, reading their help, and asking for assistance if you need it.

Hi. I see you're talking about compatibility with this 'fully functional' paid product.
You say that, but then Premiere Pro says the next reason why I cannot see my footage in the editing suite after installing Autkroma and removing the files as mentioned on their website (see attached), and regardless if I installed the BRAW 4.2 installer, it never shows in the extensions for Premiere Pro, so what did I install? Even after uninstalling 'BRAW Source Video Filter' for the Autokroma BRAW Studio, it still wants a BRAW video filter source in the Extensions to view and continue editing - and it's not there, because I had to uninstall it for BRAW Studio. I cannot open it in the studio, because I recall it corrupts the files if I do it that way.
Fully functional for those with money it seems. If the free version cannot let me view the files once in my editing suite, I do not trust paying for something that cannot guarantee me something from a trial period - otherwise, why bother with the trial period? To prove I can install it? Scams and viruses do that, even despite my firewall saying "This program is not safe", I still wanted to complete my project. But, no. I've done that for both, and one or the other - and they still don't work.
I will have to search elsewhere for answers elsewhere instead of asking them here. If the answers are not here and meant to be somewhere else, the difference is you told me to go somewhere else. If Hell exists, this scenario is a good start; corporate greed and errors. Just reminds me why I stopped these projects with problems like these.
I won't be surprised if AI takes over more than it has anymore, with excuses created by others, delaying and distracting from progress and success. Or perhaps the errors were purposeful by a 'ransom business' design, who knows...
If it worked before, something has changed.

You've got your files setup for working in BRAW screwed up, which is quite easy to do if you miss a step, granted. So as I noted, you probably need to simply uninstall it all, both all Autokroma and all BM BRAW files, no matter whether you use the Autokroma paid or free, or the BM freebie.
And start the process over from scratch.
This is not an unusual thing in computer workflows for complicated apps like this. I work with pro colorists, and they typically have thousands per year spent of effects suites to add capability to Resolve, and every so often something borks, and they have to uninstall/reinstall. Life happens.
There are thousands of users working with BRAW daily in Premiere, normally without issue. Some manage to work with the BM freebie plugin, and many of us work with either the free or paid Autokroma plugin.
As I noted, Autokroma provides excellent help which you seem not to have asked for. They even provide help for users of the BM freebie, far more than BlackMagic does.
So your situation is entirely fixable, thousands of users are working without issue with BRAW daily in Premiere, and no one has any ulterior motives to take your money without providing service.
