Question

Premiere Pro video not playing in source monitor after sync settings

Hi Gang.  My videos will play on a timeline but not in the source window.  I hear the audio but the video is frozen.  I can scrub the monitor and see the frames change.  I deleted my profile config from Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/9.0 and the videos WILL playback in the source monitor.  However, as soon as I sync my settings from CC, (to restore my custom keyboard shortcuts, etc.) the videos will no longer play in the Source monitor.

Am I missing something obvious here?  I can't seem to find the magic "don't screw up the monitor" button in the preferences.

Thanks

    @vidya

    Thanks a lot. It solved my problem. Instead of rename I changed my path. And it's worked.

    I looked all over every thread and my solution was holding alt down while opening premiere. It clears out and resets everything but it fixed everything.

    I am having the same problem but discovered it's only happening with subclips. I tried the suggestion given to Vidmachine. That didn't work. I tried the suggestion for Yimkand. That works but I have about 30 hours that I've put into an existing project.  Starting a new file doesn't help. I have a deadline and need this fixed.

    Hi donnac45797621,

    Sorry for not explaining in detail. You don't have to start a new file. Please follow the steps.

    1. Go to the following location in the machine

             In Windows, C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\11.0 (Or)

             In Mac, Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 11.0

    2. Rename the 11.0 folder to Old_11.0

    3. Launch Premiere Pro, Create a new project(do not open Old projects)

    4. In Menu bar, Window > Workspace > Uncheck Import Workspace from Projects.

    5. Open the old project & check the issue.

    Please let us know the status of the issue.

    Thanks,

    Vidya

    @Vidya

    Thanks.  This fix worked for me.  It also stopped a crash I was getting too.

    Many thanks,

    Stephen

    Hi Vidmachine,

    It seems like the synced preferences with creative cloud are corrupted.

    Try to uncheck the preferences & sync settings with creative cloud & test.

    After deleting the Profile Config, Launch Premiere Pro, create a new project(donot open old project)

    1. File > Sync Settings > Manage Sync Settings > Uncheck Preferences/Settings > Click OK

    2. File > Sync Settings > Sync settings now.

    3. Test the playback in source monitor.

    Please let us know the status.

    Thanks,

    Vidya

    I have exactly the same problem. My Source window is not playing video. I can see a still image and can scrub the audio. I tried unchecking the synced preferences. I had no Profile Config.

    Any suggestions?
