Hey guys,
the other day I was working with a still image in Premiere Pro and everything worked fine. I am now attempting to edit footage but when I import the video it makes another copy of it and says its an image sequence. This is frustrating because I then can't edit and resize my footage properly but cannot figure out how to stop this from happening. I'm assuming it changed my workspace from when I was working with still images but I do not know how to fix it. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Your description doesn't make sense. Can you clarify?

when I am inserting a video it is making a second copy of the video in my media bin and it is labeling it as a sequence. When i drag the video to the timeline it is then very small and will not resize and edit how a usual video would in Premiere Pro.

what type of video are you importing ? For example, is it 1920x1080p mov H264 ?
There is a free program called mediaInfo that you can use to get all the info to share with people.

1364x3264 44100Hz.
When I drag the video clip to the timeline is when it makes a duplicate clip.

I've used this same clip before and not had this problem.. i think something with my workspace got messed up when i was editing still images. It almost seems like its treating the video like a photo file maybe?

You can try the following:
Start the program by holding down the Alt (Option) + Shift key until the welcome screen appears.
In this way it re-establishes the configuration and the complements.

OK, I do believe you just need to read the manual and learn how PP works.

The clip on the left of the media bin is the clip I dragged from my files. It then gets duplicated to the right of the original with a different icon in the bottom right hand corner of the clip. I am not sure what this is, but it is interfering with me being able to edit the footage properly.

That (Hamptons 4) is a "sequence," and what you see in the bottom right is the "sequence" icon. You get that when you drag your clip (Hamptons 4.mov) to the "new icon" and it assigns that clip's name (without the .mov extension) to the sequence.
You can add more clips to the timeline and they will be part of that sequence.

An image sequence is series of numbered stills imported as a video clip.

Thank you! I am wondering though why it is creating that sequence because that did not use to always happen. Because when I got to resize of rotate that clip the dimensions are messed up and I can't edit the footage how I would like to.

It has always been there.
If you want landscape set up a custom sequence.

could you elaborate on how to do this?
