Premiere turning video to image sequence

Hey guys,

the other day I was working with a still image in Premiere Pro and everything worked fine. I am now attempting to edit footage but when I import the video it makes another copy of it and says its an image sequence. This is frustrating because I then can't edit and resize my footage properly but cannot figure out how to stop this from happening. I'm assuming it changed my workspace from when I was working with still images but I do not know how to fix it. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! I am wondering though why it is creating that sequence because that did not use to always happen. Because when I got to resize of rotate that clip the dimensions are messed up and I can't edit the footage how I would like to.

    It has always been there.

If you want landscape set up a custom sequence.

The clip on the left of the media bin is the clip I dragged from my files. It then gets duplicated to the right of the original with a different icon in the bottom right hand corner of the clip. I am not sure what this is, but it is interfering with me being able to edit the footage properly.

That (Hamptons 4) is a "sequence," and what you see in the bottom right is the "sequence" icon. You get that when you drag your clip (Hamptons 4.mov) to the "new icon" and it assigns that clip's name (without the .mov extension) to the sequence.

You can add more clips to the timeline and they will be part of that sequence.

    You can try the following:

Start the program by holding down the Alt (Option) + Shift key until the welcome screen appears.

In this way it re-establishes the configuration and the complements.

Your description doesn't make sense.  Can you clarify?

when I am inserting a video it is making a second copy of the video in my media bin and it is labeling it as a sequence. When i drag the video to the timeline it is then very small and will not resize and edit how a usual video would in Premiere Pro.
