Premirer Pro 2020 Sequence Playback too loud

Ever since upgrading to PP2020 I keep having the issue of audio playing back aprox 7db too loud. Since I've been transitioning a project I figured this might be due to the new mixer.  A new timeline helped. But now on a brand new project whenever I create any MULTICHANNEL sequence this problem continues. It's incredibly annoying cuz I can't master any perfect multichannel versions of my work. Is this a BUG HAT NEEDS FIXING FAST or am I missing something?

Yeah I'm still not really following what's going on here.

I made a sequence 8 channels, and created Bars & Tone at -12dB.

There's Tone on each audio track and thus routed to each output.

The sequence displays correctly in the VU meter.

After exporting and re-importing, the VU levels are still at -12dB.

I check the Loudness Radar, and no matter how many channels I play, it always displays -7.7 LKFS.

Try that, and see if you can replicate the issue

There seem to be a couple bugs with the new audio implementation, but your post gives us no useful information.

What multichannel format are you editing in?

What source media?

What does your audio track patching look like?

Hi thanks for the quick reply. Intially I tried to create 8 different channels of output. Since immediately had that problem I tinkered with all sorts of variations. A new multichannel sequence with 2 channels at first worked fine but immediately went too loud when I went up to 4 channels. Reducing it back to 2 channels didn't get rid of the problem.

As for source media I stopped using my edited stereo timeline after the problem surfaced (which I meant to split into full mix with dedicated MUSIC, SFX and DIALOGUE tracks). Instead I ran the tests with a mixed PRO RES 422 clip mastered to RS128 stereo standard so the the +7db problem would be immedeiately apparent. I didn't even get as far as patching the audio to any specific channels, as the playback was incorrect. I did try to route it to 3&4 or 5&6 as well but it made no difference.

On older projects the Stereo PRO RES 422 Timelines were messed up as well. Sometimes I could get rid of the problem by creating a new timeline and copying & pasting the edit. This worked occasionaly, but not always. I hope this helps.
