Preserve source file metadata when exporting sequence

Hi there,

When color-correcting/stabilizing/trimming source footage, I like to put all the clips from a shoot into a single timeline, then export each one individually using the In/Out markers. Is there a way I could preserve metadata in those individual clips when they are exported from the sequence? For instance, if there are 15 clips in the timeline and I only export the portion that contains one clip, how can I preserve that file's metadata in the exported version?

Or, if this is not feasible for multiple clips, is there a way I can have PR automatically copy file metadata into the sequence metadata when creating the sequence, so that I could just put each clip in its own sequence, and preserve metadata on export?

I know that you can export from the source with metadata, and apply simple effects to the master clips, but this doesn't support Warp Stabilizer.

Thanks!

The only way I know of to retain the clip metadata is to export from a bin or Source Monitor.  Once the clip is in a sequence, the metadata will be from the sequence.

Copying metadata would have to be done manually for each clip export.

In short, what you want just isn't easily done in PP.

However, in DaVinci Resolve it may be possible.  You have the option to export a timeline as a single clip (the entire timeline), or as individual clips.  This latter should retain the individual clip metadata.

The catch is that stabilization is only included in the $300 Studio version.
