Presets are now slowing me down

My presets worked fine on the last version. I updated to 14.0 and now anytime I apply a preset, it gets really choppy during playback. Is this a bug or is there a work around?

I think for that I'd have just made one layer of graphics, without the color matte layer.

 

Create a shape that animates in ... with text layers that animate in as needed. And move as needed.

 

Copy/paste elements of it to other graphics as needed.

That's ... interesting.

 

I can't replicate, even working this with some BM-raw media. It shouldn't have any effect at all.

 

If you create a new preset and apply it does it make the same problem?

Here is the video. This is after I apply the presets. It gets really glitchy. Once it goes through the clips that has the presets,  it runs smooth. If I modify a keyframe, it gets glitchy again. Playing it back is hit or miss. Sometimes it will get glitchy, sometimes it will not.

If you apply the same things without a preset, does it slow down also?

I did it without a preset and it does not slow down.

No clue what you're hitting.

 

Please ... your computer specs and the media/effects you're working with are useful. Post them. And of course the specific presets you're having trouble with in detail.

I am using a MBP

2.9 Ghz Intel Core i9

Memory: 32Gm 2400 mhz ddr4

External GPU: Radeon RX Vega 64 8GM

 

Here is an example of a preset that I created (Position and Crop). Anytime I apply this or any other preset, it seems like my systems slows down (mouse pauses when moving, playback is slow) It takes time for it to get back to normal after a few seconds. I have not had this issue before with previous versions of premiere.
