I'm on my Mac and somehow dragged the video preview into its own window. Deleted the window thinking it would go back to normal but it did not show back up on the app. I tried closing down the app and opening it back up again but this did not work.

I'm sorry to hear that. Please hover the mouse over the menu bar at the top, select Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout. If you still don't see the preview window, go to Window > Program Monitor. Let me know how it goes.
