Problems exporting clips to AVI or MP4 (mac)

Hello

I downloaded Premiere Pro cc yesterday. But I see quite a few - and sometimes simply unknown - export formats. For example, I can not export my clip as AVI or MP4. The format "AVI" or MP4 is not even displayed. Why not?   - I have no previous knowledge about Premiere Pro. But intuitively, as well as with the help of Youtube videos I am not advanced.

Can someone help me?

Many Thanks

Lukas

Correct answer David Arbor

A client of mine couldn't open quick time files. So I had to export my little clip to another format. Meanwhile I figured out, that I can not export my clips as AVI because I have a mac. Thank you for your answer!

Any advice what I should export my clips in when clients "can't open" it? - because I thought the "Audio Video Interleave" would be the easiest way....

I Donwloaded MPEG_Streamclip Beta to solve my problem though

Why not just send the client an MP4? They're not QuickTime files and your client should be able to play them in Windows Media Player, unless they have an ancient version of Windows.

I would recommend downloading Media Encoder. If you don’t have a single license subscription this should be an option. After you downlad AME you would click queu in the export panel. The Lowe left of AME has tons of video options. There are definitely more formats in AME. When you see the format you want you can simply drag it on to the output path in the queu panel in AME

Premiere has the exact same formats and export options as AME. And even if you have a single-app license for Premiere I believe it allows you to download AME as well.

Please be a little more specific about your problem. You say AVI or MP4 aren't options, but where are you looking? Are you just trying File>Export, or did you go to File>Export>Media?

You say you're on a Mac, which is why you're not going to see AVI as an option. If you want MP4 for YouTube choose the H.264 category and then go to the bottom of the preset list for the YouTube presets.

See the attached screenshot for what that looks like.
