Problems with Premiere Pro and Canon Clog video

Can anyone help me with this?

When I shoot Canon CLOG3 with my Canon R6M2, the video looks like this when playing.

When in pause, the video looks normal. But I get this when trying to play the video. It makes it nearly impossible to edit the video. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

That looks like some kind of graphics card issue. What's the OS and GPU on that computer?

That's easy enough ... you can use the Nvidia control panel, or look at the Windows system hardware listing. But it is rather a major thing to know about, and how to change/update.

Also ... make sure you use the Nvidia "studio" drivers, NOT the 'game ready' drivers, which unfortunately add other crud to 'enhance the gaming experience' that you do not want.

Easy also to go to the Nvidia driver support page, and check for updates.

Thanks R Neil. I went to the NVIDIA driver page but I cannot find an update for the GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6. The system was built in 2019

There are updates for many cards, back through the 1000 series. So ... Nvidia/support ...

https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx

Just use the drop-down boxes to get the 2070 driver. And a number of Nvidia's drivers have been wonky of late. The latest one may not be fine, sometimes one needs to go back a driver or two. But I'd try the latest Studio driver listed.

I contacted NVIDIA's online suport chat. They sent me a link to a driver they said was a "studio" driver." I did a custom install as per their instructions and rebooted the computer. The problem is still there in Premiere Pro. What is unusual is that if I open the same file in AE, it does not have the same problem and plays back fine.

That last bit, especially, is solid data.

@Fergus H  ... is this an issue you want to check?

Hello R Neil,

The issue was resolved with the help of adobe on line. Thank you for your help as well. I wanted to let you know what was discovered.

On my settings: File/Project Settings/Renderer, this was selected in the drop down box: Mercury Playback Engine Software only. We switched that to "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Accleration (CUDA)" and now it is working fine. I thank you for reaching out to help me. Thank was very kind of you. All my best, Scott Bunkelmann, Spectrumystic Studios, North Palm Beach, Florida
