Project File Replaced Clips with Wrong Media Files

Hello, hoping to find help.

I opened my project file and got the prompt "missing media files." The video files that the project file is trying to find are/were not even in my project - never have been, they are media files saved in another folder (on the same drive) . . . Looking closer at the sequence in the timeline, these missing (incorrect) video files have replaced (correct) clips/video files. I have worked really hard on this project, was almost finished, and wham-o, this unpleasant surprise. Thanks in advance.

Are these those "spanned" files ... where all files are like 000001.mts or something similar? So they all have the same name? As this does happen with those if the folder references get mixed up in Premiere's internal data.

Hi R Neil Haugen,

The clips do not appear to be unusual in any way, other than they are the wrong clips.

What is the naming schema for the clips? That's what I was asking about.

Check your autosaves and backups.

Thanks Peru Bob.

Unfortunately the clips are also replaced in all the autosaves.
