Question

Project folder not writeable

I've just bought a new macbook pro and on trying to start a new project in Premiere, it says "This location is write-protected or unavailable." It says this wherever I try to save the project. None of the file locations are locked. Any idea what's going on?

@Ishan Y

I'm having this issue when trying to create a new project. It won't let me open the file and it includes the same error message. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm guessing that it's an issue with storing your project on "one drive."  Save locally on a hard drive that's directly connected to your computer...  I don't work with "one drive" but have my system set up so I can save locally to a folder that's automatically mirrored on dropbox...   Been working this way for many years without issues.

Hey,

Sorry about the issue. Have you tried granting Full Disk Access to Premiere? Here's how: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/quick-tips-learn-how-to-give-full-disk-access-to-photoshop-on-macos/m-p/12889716#M637838

Let us know if this helps.

Regards,

Ishan

Find the folder where Premiere is trying to save the project to, right click on the folder and choose "get info"

in the info window, unlock it by clicking on the lock icon at the bottom right.   Make sure you have full read and write permissions and also click on the gear wheel below and enable "apply to enclosed items."
