Project Manager - Destination Path

I have always edited 4K footage on my premiere software, without the need to create proxies, without any issues. Lately this has been quite painful as the playback keeps freezing and its very slow. (even when I set it to 1/8 of the quality)

I was trying to solve the issue, so I went into Project Manager and noticed that: Disk Space Available was about 200GB and the original project size was around 1.4TB. I thought that could be the problem.

I have looked at the "Destination Path" and that location was a folder in my Documents. Therefore, I have tried to change the location to an external server with 16TB of free space.

The process started but at a certain point froze, and it didn't move. I then cancelled it.

Now I am trying to open Premiere and its not opening at all. Any clue of how can I solve this issue? Or at least open Premiere again?

I’d try this while starting Premiere:

Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching Premiere Pro. You can release the Alt key or Option key whenthe splash screen appears. To reset preferences and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting.

Then clean out the Media cache.

At. The top of the interface go to edit (Windows) or Premiere Pro Preferences (MAC) Media and disk cache the use the 2 options to clean your disk cache.

I hope that this helps.
