So i've been really breaking my head over this issue.

When consolidating a few seuqences in a clients project we get the Unkown error from project manager.

I have no clear answer as to how te sequence is build since the client has done this.
However i will try to explain as much detail as possible
Source footage: AVC 100

Steps to Consolidate:
See screenshot aswell
- open project manager
select the sequence (which is already selected)
- Select sonsolidate and transcode
source : Individual clips
Format  : MXF OP1a
Preset : match source - AVC-Intra

Destination: Big shared storage drive which is connected with 10GB fiber
- Options:
Exclude unused clips
Include Handles: 25 frames or 30 frames ( tried both)
Rename media files to match clip names

Steps ive taken to troubleshoot so far:

Copying project
Copying sequence and pasting in new project
Consolidating to a different codex
checking for special characters
Tried it on a VM machine and on a bare metal machine.

How all sequences are build:
They use regular avc 100 video footage
MORGT footage.

Error message we receive

project manager settings:

error that are listen in the events

Please take a look at this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/project-manager-consolidate-and-transcode-problems/td-p/9260441?page=1

This is a (admittedly old) list of known issues with the Project Manager. Check if your project hits any of these bullet points.

Since you are transcoding to mxf, make sure to check the 2nd bullet point.

  • If the clip has multiple stereo channels of audio. These can only transcode to QuickTime, all other formats(e.g.: DNxHD) will fail and copy, since the other exporters do not support multi-stereo (QuickTime is the only exporter that currently supports that and only with uncompressed audio)

I have not done much testing with Project Manager recently so I don't know if any or all of these issues have been fixed.
