Proxy workflow - Interpret footage greyed out in media encoder

Hello,

I have to make proxies for my 50fps footage interpreted to 25fps (modify > assume this framerate).

Until now I've interpreted the footage and then created proxies with media encoder. After it started making the proxies I stopped the process and interpreted the proxy to 25fps and everything worked fine.

Now this is greyed out. If I make the proxy it's not alligned with the original frames and its not in slow-motion.

I've checked the properties and apparently proxy stays the same as original media framerate despite it was modified to 25fps:

Proxy Media

Type: QuickTime Movie
File Size: 208,23 MB
Image Size: 1280 x 720
Frame Rate: 50,00

Is there any way to make proxies without needing to adjust the speed of the clip?

I saw in another community thread that Media Encoder should create proxies at the correct frame rate with update after July this year, but it does not.

I'm using PP version 22.5 and Mac M1 Pro

This is one of those situations where the "obvious" tool isn't the right tool.

The engineers keep saying do NOT use Interpret Footage to change speed for clips. Use the Speed/Duration process instead. Interpret Footage is designed for use where the cadence changes, like say 29.97 to 23.976.

The weird thing about Speed/Duration, is you need to use a percentage change. Which can take just a bit of fiddling to get right. But ... when using Speed/Duration, the proxies come out as expected.
