Mentioned this in Bugs on another post, but it was moved to a comment on an unrelated issue, when it's meant to be a PSA. So here I am wasting time writing it again.

If you are an editor excited to try the new text-based editing feature I would STRONGLY ADVISE holding off until a fix comes out. I lost two weeks of work after my project became extremely unstable having been fine for two weeks. I tried all manner of troubleshooting, but nothing would fix (all the normal things - cache, drivers, testing different machines and drives, Mac and PC).

The scary thing is, when I downgrade to 23.3 the project remained unstable and crashing, AND days old auto-save versions that were working fine also crashed. It's behavior I've never seen in Adobe. Other projects are fine on both my Mac and PC machines, and new projects with the same media and drives are fine, so at this point I've ruled out everything but all versions of the project I created in 23.4. Something got deeply corrupted, I believe, in the transcripts during text-based editing. Now, even opening the text window on old versions in 23.4 OR 23.3 cause instability.

In hopes of just moving forward, I've downgraded to 23.3 am rebuilding all sync maps and selects of a 5 day shoot now. I just paid $75 for Trint transcriptions because I'm afraid to even use Adobe transcription at this point, I don't have time for an unstable situation after losing two weeks of work. Really unhappy to be paying for a feature I should get with Adobe.

Would really appreciate outreach from an Adobe employee. This is the kind of thing that makes me tempted to make the switch over to AVID even though I've defended Adobe's tools for years.
