Question

"This project was saved in a newer version of Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version."

I'm receiving a pop-up message that reads, "This project was saved in a newer version of Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version."

I worked on a project on a friend's computer, (using my own adobe account), and brought it home to work on my own computer.

But that error message keeps popping up. I ran the update test on Creative Cloud, and it's telling me that I'm all up to date.

What could be the issue, then??

I'm using the Premiere Pro CC Version 12.1.2 on my own computer.

Chances are you opened the file with 2018 instead of 2019 .

Richt click on project file and Open with.....

I had a similar problem, but even more bizarre. I worked on the file YESTERDAY. When I tried to open it today, on the SAME computer, using the SAME version of Premiere Pro, I got the error shown. I'd like to hear Adobe explain that!

    The latest version is 13.1.5.

So your machine is definitly not up to date.

Which OS are you running on.

If its W7 then that would explain it. 2019 requires W10 1703.
