Using the CPU instead of the GPU can have an impact. So can high quality playback. There are some serious flaws with the Mercury Playback Engine. People are told to turn off GPU acceleration or turn off Nvnec. The user should not be forced to change settings. Premiere Pro should just work like all other NLE systems. Adobe is aware of these issues but doesn't really care.

Hey Andy,

FWIW, Radial Wipe is an obsolete effect, which may be the problem. Unexpected behavior for these effects is somewhat typical, unfortunately. A workaround might be necessary in this case. Sometimes nesting the item and then adding the effect to the nest can help with this problem.

Obsolete effects are no longer being developed or maintained. Radial Wipe is still available to restore older projects containing the effect. Adding the effect is not a good idea for a current post-production workflow. There are third-party plug-ins that do this effect that is currently supported. FYI, the Radial Wipe effect will eventually be removed.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin.

It would have been nice if you could have stated Adobe is revamping all the transitions and they will be GPU accelerated. Your response is more proof that Premiere Pro is getting worse and worse. Why am I and eveyone else paying a monthly fee if Premiere Pro is getting worse and worse?

I do not see that here, WorshipStyle. Sorry! What's the working color space for your sequence in sequence settings? Also, have you tried switching off hardware decoding in Preferences > Media?

Thanks,
Kevin
