Random upper and lowercase letters in previously exported video-- will not stay all caps

I recently opened an old project to re-export it with a watermark. It's a simple video with text on screen. The first export was totally normal, but now every single block of text is in random upper and lowercase letters. When I highlight the text and click the TT button (which is already selected anyway) it doesn't make a difference. I can highlight each individual letter and retype it with the Shift key to capitalize, but it makes the letter appear semi-bold? I'm also not loving the idea of highlighting each individual letter to correct it throughout the whole video.
