Recent update is turning my Master Audio Channel from Stereo to Mono on older projects

     So this is getting really frustrating. I had this happen on a previous project but was able to copy and paste into a new timeline as a quick and dirty fix. Though now I have a project with a lot of mix and I can't do this that easily. I guess with the recent update this started happening. This project was made in the previous version, of the current PP. Since the update when I go to open an older file it asks me to convert the project to the most recent version. Okay, I've done this hundreds of times and never have ran into this issue. Now, when I convert the files my stereo master and stereo submixes convert to mono. This is not how I made it, I have never made a file strictly mono, and I cannot ship it back to the client like this either. Whats frustrating, is all I need to do is make a graphical change that should only take about 10 minutes to do. Now I have to go back and do a remix and get it back to where it is in this timeline. I've checked my sequence settings, and where I can change it to stereo it's grayed out.

What's up Adobe? Will I have to create new timelines every time I open an older file?
