Edit: v24.4.1 of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder are now available and fix the issues mentioned below. Information about what is new in v24.4.x is available here:

--------------

You might have noticed that Premiere Pro and Media Encoder v24.4 started to become available this week to some customers. Our release process uses a limited rollout of new versions so that we can identify any issues early.

While we usually find issues via our own testing and the public beta process, occasionally issues appear in a new version that we have not previously identified and fixed.

That has happened with the release of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder v24.4: we have detected a slightly higher rate of crashes, and we have made the decision to halt the rollout of the new version.

We have identified the cause of the problem, and we are currently working on rebuilding, testing, and starting the rollout of the new version. I can’t provide a timeframe yet, but the new versions of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder will be v24.4.1.

If you already have v24.4 installed, you can choose to continue using it or rollback to version v24.3, using the instructions here.

Lastly, this issue does not affect After Effects v24.4, which is already available.
