Question

Removing background from this adobe stock vid

I purchased this .mov vid from Adobe Stock.  There are no layers of course.

Just wondering if there is a way within Premiere Pro to make the background transparent and keep the elephant white?

Apply the 'Invert' effect and change the blend mode to 'Screen' under the Opacity section.

This is what I get with those settings.  Should I have selected and tracked the elephant first?

Unless you want the elephant to have a solid white fill. In which case you will need a mask that follows the outline of the elephant. It doesn't have to be exact, draw and animate it roughly in the middle of the outer stroke.

This will give you this:

Then add another copy of the elephant clip on V3 and change the Opacity mode to "Multiply":

Yes I need the elephant to have a white fill.  I'm sure your instructions are correct but I'm just not getting there for some reason.  This is a more animated version of the elephant that I'm also using.  There is a lot of  movement from frame to frame so I manually adjusted the mask frame by frame.  I just can't get that white fill happening.
