Question

Right-click on timeline causes crash.

When I right-click on the timeline (with intention of finding media due to media being pending for whatever reason), Premiere freezes indefintiely with the spining blue wheel while and goes "Not Responding".

This problem started after I cleared the Media Cache and moved its location to the same external drive that I save all my Adobe and OBS files to. Will the Media Cache not being on my actual PC be causing such a freeze? Also, why would the media be pending when I just literally waited hours for the file to render?

It is not wise to put cache files on an external drive ... those files are what Premiere operates moment-by-moment from. They need to be on an internal drive. On a desktop, the preference is a fast SSD separate from all other use. If you have only one drive on a laptop and are using external for media, you still need to have the cache files on the internal drive.

Okay I figured out the problem, just had to restart my pc and completely delete all cache files, and now wait for new indexes to be rendered. I moved the cache back to my m.2 ssd in my pc, but can't put them in the roaming folder manually, is that a problem? Or doesn't matter as long as they're on the internal drive somewhere?
