Ripple Delete

Hi,

There are some older posts on here concerning Ripple Delete and I've tried their suggested solutions but to no avail. I have the latest version of Premier Pro and Ripple Delete is defeating me! Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, Ripple Delete, more often than not, is 'greyed out' when I try to use it. I have a long sequence of clips and images on the Timeline and removing a single image without Ripple Delete would involve a lot of unneccesary work.

I would be most grateful for any sensible advice to resolve this issue.
