Thank you for helping a novice.
I have a 3+ hour video, about 520MB. I cut out a 50 minute segment from it and save it as another file. Then I export it. I have tried 3 different settings, but for some reason this small 50 minute portion of the 3 hour video exports bigger than the original video! I am lost. the 50 minute video was at least 750MB when it exported. Sometimes too when I export it just decides to crash. But the size is really more of the issue.
What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help!

Post a screen-grab of the Export dialog box with the settings you're using. Use the picture icon in the reply box formatting bar so the pic shows in your reply.

What do you get with H.265/HEVC?

I've only tried the H.264
Maybe I can try the H.265
But I know that when I tried HEVC, it was even bigger than 700MB!

Sorry Neil. What I wrote down on my log is that when I tried HEVC, it only did audio when I double clicked to play the video. There was only audio playing. No video 😞

Then something was amiss in that export ... try the H.265/HEVC again, and screen-grab the Export dialog settings. Scroll down into the Video tab settings, and drop the Bitrate settings down some.

Thank you Neil.
I am exporting it again. Here is a screenshot of what I used:

Still no luck Neil.
After using those settings, it exported double the size, making it even way bigger.
I think it's time to tell the stakeholder that it just isn't possible.
Thank you for your help anyway.
I appreciate it.
