Says GPU acceleration required despite having it enabled

I have enabled GPU acceleration and have triple checked to make sure it is on. However, when I use an effect that requires it, it still gives me the error message that it require GPU acceleration.

I can't find any posts on this so maybe i'm missing something obvious?

Wrong forum and you haven't provided any useful details like actual system info or what effect you want to use. You need to do better and make an effort to give people something to work with.
