Scene Detect created bins for each clip as needed from 1 video, but now it exports each cut

So I used Scene Detect with 1 video and created a bin for each subclip as needed so I can easily drag and drop from the project panel. Great.

Problem: Open files/Source files are HUUUGE because instead of referencing the 1 main clip, Premiere is exporting cuts from it as individual videos, but the worst part is they are all duplicates of the same main clip, except when premiere pro interprets them according to their cut points.

So instead of taking a few moments to upload open files for the client, it's taking a godly amount of hours.

Did I do something wrong, or is the scene detection subclip/bin feature just terribly inefficient?

Is there a way to "Consolidate footage" like in AE?
