sequence.setSelection([trackItem]) takes 25 minutes

Hi, there,

sequence.setSelection([trackItem]);

takes 25 minutes for Premiere Pro to update UI. The problem is not in the script command. If you manually select track item
you need to wait the same 25 minutes.

On a more powerful computer it is faster but still chokes.

The Premiere Pro is the latest.

The timeline is empty. The track item is MOGRT.

Of cause it depends on how heavy the MOGRT is but it is not super that heavy to wait half an hour.

Here is a MOGRT file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Jh0I3gerGcYlqxd3Go10gUNl5on2dTLd/view?usp=sharing

Steps to reproduce:
1. Import MOGRT to the timeline
2. Click on the track item

Is there a workaround to speed thinkgs up??

Following your steps, my Mac Studio opens that .mogrt in ~12 seconds, in current PPro beta (23.5.0x15).

What version of PPro are you using?

Your repro steps don't involve sequence.setSelection(); what leads you to believe this is an API problem?

I was using the latest public release (updated a few days ago).

It is not an API problem just a general problem of MOGRT performance.

12 seconds happens every time you click an item.

For example, if you import the same as AE comp it takes 0 seconds which is the way it should work.

And 12 seconds is on a top-notch computer. I had results ranging from 30 seconds to 25 minutes depending on a computer.

yes, it happens every single time.

Bizarre (and frustrating)!

We can't make that happen, using your .mogrt, on multiple systems, in multiple versions of PPro.

In what previous PPro version could you click on .mogrts, without a long delay? What else has changed about your system, since things worked better? Are you using any Transmit devices?
