Sequence Setup Not Recognizing Clip Format CC 2019

New Here ,
Nov 13, 2018 Nov 13, 2018

updated to 13.0.1 recently and have discovered that even after formatting my sequence to DSLR 23.97 and inserting a clip or,
creating a new sequence from clip, the timeline is not giving me rendered and ready to go playback.
They drop in as needing to be 'cooked' (red line hovering)

the camera I used to shoot footage is the 7D

Video Codec Type: MP4/MOV H.264 4:2:0  (Full Range)

screenshot below - please help - is this the phasing out of the h.264 format?
I was hopeful I would have a little more time to work with this format as I do not have the means to a new camera just yet...
or maybe its simply a matter of something I need to tick on or off in prefs?Screen Shot 2018-11-13 at 4.34.56 PM.png

I don't know which GPU you have, but it is doubtful that 2011 iMac has a GPU that is usable with the 13.x builds and forward.

I think that has given good service for a very long time ...

Post a screen shot of your Sequence Settings (menu Sequence > Sequence Settings.

Also, right click (control-click) on one of your camera source clips in the Project Panel, choose Properties from the drop down menu and post a screen shot of the Properties for the clip.

As a test, create a new, empty sequence (menu File > New > Sequence).

Choose DV NTSC > Widescreen 32khz for the Sequence Settings click OK.

Drag one of your source files into the new empty sequence. You will get a Dialog box asking if you want the sequence to match the properties of your source clip. Click on Change Sequence Settings.

Does your clip still have a red line above it?

yah already tried that test
this may have something to do with the wimpy graphics card that comes default with this older machine
perhaps it finally just won't automatically do the work anymore -
reading with the new update that the new beefier graphics cards and updated OS systems are a must, so maybe?

i really just don't know.
new machine is not coming until around the winter holidays so I may just have to suffer a bit til then.

Before you abandon ship, go to File > Project Settings > General and see what the Renderer is set to.

If it is not set to Open CL, try setting it to Open CL.

Judging by what I just googled The Mid 2011 iMacs came with a AMD Radeon HD 6770M or 6970M GPU. And searching the latest System Requirements I'm not seeing those GPUs listed. So I really think Neil is on to something.

Those GPU's are far from being able to manage CC2019. He needs to get new cards. Unfortunately easier said than donjon an iMac. A new machine is more likely to help. Or role back to an older version of CC
