All of a sudden, a sequence that I'm working on will not render. When I start the render, it just hangs and says ".01% Complete." I'm forced to quit PP from the Task Manager.
It only does this with this one specific sequence. Other sequences will render. Sequences in projects will render.
I've done all the troubleshooting I know to:
I needed to get my cut out, so I stopped trying to troubleshoot. Thankfully it exported without a problem.
Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem here?
Have you tried changing preview codec?

TROUBLESHOOTING UPDATE:
It appears this has something to do with the fact that my sequence is a vertical sequence (1080x1920). I took a clip with a filter applied out of the vertical sequence then dropped it into a 1920x1080 sequence with the same settings and it rendered.

TROUBLESHOOTING UPDATE:
I dropped my vertical sequence that would not render into a 1920x1080 sequence as a NEST and IT RENDERED!
My verdict is Premiere has an issue with rendering vertical sequences.
Anyone else have this issue?

Hi ulikunkel_autobahn,
I'm sorry for your frustrating experience! To my knowledge, Premiere Pro has no issues with rendering vertical sequences.
To my knowledge, Premiere Pro has no issues with rendering vertical sequences.
Just for a test, Is it possible to create a new project with vertical sequence, import one clip, apply the same filter & render it.
*And also, just to be clear, when you say Render, Are you rendering the clip in the sequence or exporting the sequence out?
Please let us know the status.
Thanks,
Vidya

Thank you for the reply.
I created a new project with a vertical sequence, imported a new clip, cut it into the sequence, applied a filter, and tried rendering the clip, and it still hangs.
Exporting works fine.

Which filter did you apply
Does it export without the GenArts installed?

Again, for clarity-- EXPORTING works. RENDERING Clips/Sequences does not.
I applied Genarts S_TriTone.
I haven't tried without GenArts installed.
Regular sequences render fine with GenArts.

Changed it from Quicktime/DNxHD to I-Frame only MPEG and it worked! Great idea!
Thank you!
