Checking if anyone has been brave enough to update to Seqouia before Adobes releases a supported update.
If so, any major bugs issues you've noticed?
Seeing posts and issues with the beta release but don't see any posts yet for the official release that's just happened.

I just got an email from Puget Systems, who's a noted builder of machines for Resolve, Pr, Ae, Nuke, Fusion, whatever ... suggesting that all video post workers hold off on Sequoia at this time, due to several apparently common probems.

Figured as much. Thanks!

Hey Neil, Matt from Puget Systems here! We had someone link to this thread, but we can't find anywhere in our recent newsletters that we recommended avoiding MacOS Sequoia. We generally make those kinds of recommendations on the Windows side when there is a bad driver or Windows update. Any chance you can share which email that was from? Feel free to reach out to me directly via email if that is more convienant - Matt at pugetsystems.com

Hi there!
It was a doc linked by someone else here or on the BM forums back then. I did a quick look through, and it mentioned Sequoia as just out, not recommended for update yet.

I held off from updating my system to Sonoma for about a year to let them work out all the bugs. Finally I decide "ok let's update it now"....Just so happens that I updated my system the day Sequoia was released without knowing it until I came back to my computer after the update was complete....well darn ok let's see how this goes....Terrible! My video files keep self corrupting and dropping frames in my timeline...I can't even get a full render out before a file just corrupts all of a sudden and I have to redownload from the source...very frustrating experience right now

Did you have any solution for this? I've been suffering because i can't edit without lagging even with proxies!

According to Puget Systems, Sequioa is a mess across the entire video post applications. They recommend staying with the previous OS, and if you have updated, reverting if at all possible.
No matter the app nor media used.

its bad! it does crash all the time! For example just running transcription for one file / sequence and open another sequence its just closes / crashes. no warning or any error report. I already re-installed Premiere Pro and any essential audio plugins that I have running.

... oh and on the other hand no issues fith FinalCutPro and the same audio plugins!

Gee, Apple made sure their house app works with their new OS, but not Premiere or Resolve ... so not shocked.

I've updated to MacOS Sequoia and since the update, I've had the worst experience with Premiere. It keeps crashing mid-edits, keeps asking for an update that doesn't exist, or to reset my preferences to fix the problem (which I did, and didn't solve anything).
Does Adobe have a timeline for a fix for this problem?

I've got a couple questions, in all seriousness.
With the many notices about issues between Sequoia, and every pro video post app out there, coming from all over ... with the constant recommendation to not upgrade OS until Apple fixes whatever is causing the chaos ... you updated to the problematic OS.
I'm puzzled ... why? There isn't any specific urgent need, so ... why?
And if Sequioa is a problem for all apps, Resolove, Nuke, whatever, why is Adobe supposed to fix it?

That's a great question. The honest answer is that I did it without much thought, which was idiotic on my part. I had no specific rush or reason to update the OS.
The new OS is not a problem for all the other apps that I use, so my impulsiveness to update was with those apps in mind.

on the other hand if nobody is updateding nobody will notice those "real wold work" issues and it might even take longer to fix them ... I guess even the Adobe Bugfix / Quality-Control can not "test" for every scenerio

You seemed to miss something important ... as is isn't "just" Adobe video apps having issues with Sequoia. It's all of them.
So there might just be something in the OS itself that is problematic. And if so, how is Adobe supposed to fix the Mac OS?

not in my experience... Final Cut Pro and Resolve work just fine on my machine ... really only Premiere Pro does have issues

First, Final Cut is the house app, of course it's going to work with it. Not a consideration, actually.
Second ... the individual users will have variances, as will always happen. Actually, very few bugs affect all users equally, which is something a lot of people don't seem to realize.
What is happening across users, is as I noted. For many users across pro video post, using many apps. That you are getting no issues with Resolve is good for you. But others aren't.
So again, this is an issue across all the video post apps, for many users.

@ivosousamartins84 Would you mind starting a separate thread on this issue, preferably following the instructions in this post: How do I write a bug report?
We are not aware of any issues with Premiere Pro on macOS 15 that should cause the experience you're having. There is one issue with macOS 15 but it's an issue that has workaround (and is fixed in the v25 version of our applications); it is documented here: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/known-issues.html
We have extensive data on the stability of Premiere Pro across our entire customer population. We're not seeing any increases in crashes for customers on macOS 15 compared to previous releases. Of course, that information doesn't help you if you're having a rough time! So, if you're willing, please start a thread with specific information about what you're seeing and we'll help.
Regards,
Fergus

Could everyone on this thread who is reporting issues please reply with their system specs, please? What machine are you on, processor type, RAM, GPU, etc.
