setting the title area resolution?

Im working my footage on a 1920x1080 resolution. But when i edit a title, the area im working in, seems to be much smaller. Its like its in some different resolution. Im unable to place the tile where i want it on the 1920x1080. I suspect that probably havent set the title area resolution as my sequence res. Is that the case?

Yea, on that older rig, 2017 makes sense. But be aware, you can't even download that anymore, so if anything happens to your system drive, you'll have to be at least to 2019.

Thanks for letting me know, but for us Mac users, all can come back to life with TimeMachine 😄

We can do that sort of thing in PCs also, as you apparently aren't aware. However ... that means loading the old OS and everything else. So if one really wants to stay on a 10 year old OS, well ... one can. Or might choose something more current. Neil

    Ahh ... 2017, I think that was the first release for EGP. It's far more limited than now.

     

    So ... are you still on an earlier version of the Mac OS or something? Or just older/lower capability computer? Just curious why you're still on 2017.

     

    Yes, you would need to set new title size for the sequence as you changed sequence sizes. The old Titler does not automatically change as far as I recall if you change sequence sizes.

     

    The old Titler is older code, and they decided rather than rebuild that to create a new graphics "engine", which is the Essential Graphics panel and the whole "motion graphics" or mogrts thing. At first, as in your 2017 version, the EGP had not a lot of the capabilities for say keyboard shortcuts and such that the Titler had. They've changed all that now by the 2020 version, so all the old keyboard shortcuts work the same with EGP work as Titler.

     

    And moving forward, I don't know how long the Titler will still be around.

      Im still on 2017 because im on an old mid2010 iMac, so making app upgrades creates slugginess to my workflow 😉

      Any particular reason you're using the Legacy Titler? That's going to disapear at some not too-distant point.

      First of all im using cc2017, if that mean something 🙂

      1. The title was first created when Sequence Settings were 720x576 and after that, i did a save as and created a diff version of the project with diff Sequence Settings, but i was never asked to change the title size, nor did i know i was supposed to, or how to change its dimension properties :-).

      2. Shouldnt i be using a text box to place my title?

      3. Other than the Legacy Titler what else can i use? What are the pros and cons of the LT?

      Any help on my ignorance is apreciated 😄

      1. Titles need to have the same resolution as the sequenc.

      If you change the resolution you cannot use the previous titles. Have to make new ones.

      2. not realy, just click in the window and start typing.

      3. edit: ess graphics is very limited so you are 'stuck' with the legacy one.
