Should I just use the BETA version and abandon the regular pPro?

I'm using beta more and more because there's a bug in the regular pPro that is not existent in Beta. Hence the question. It's fiddly to go back and forth, so I wonder if it's a wise move to just stay in Beta.

Probably not wise to use the betas long term as your main Premiere Pro. But certainly in the short term if it's solving a bug for you at the moment - continue to use it.
