Skip between VOB files ripped from DVD

Hi, I'd like to edit a video ripped from a DVD, but there is a skip between the VOB files when I view them from the timeline. I went frame by frame and it just looks like there's a frame missing between the clips. I checked the source DVD on a DVD player, and there's no such skip when watching it there. I was able to rename the VOB files as MPEG's and tried editing those on the timeline, but the result was the same glitch between clips.

I don't know if it will help, but I'm running the most recent, 2018 version of Premiere Pro, and the video is 720*480, 29.97 FPS, the audio is 48K/16 bits

If you are on Windows, here is how to do it:

1. Press WIN+R

2. Type cmd and press Enter

3. Navigate to the folder where the files are located

4. Type copy filename1.vob /b + filename2.vob /b + filename3.vob /b masterfile.vob

5. Press Enter

6. Wait until it is done. (It takes several minutes to complete.)

This will create a new file, masterfile.vob, and this is the file you will use to edit since no skips are present in masterfile.vob. This will stitch all three files in this example together into a seamless file. You can use any filename you prefer for the output file.

Thank you very much for your answer, I followed your instructions, however, the resulting masterfile was only a direct copy of the first vob file, the subsequent files were not included.

Hi

I too am having issues with VOB files in CC....

The DVD is about 45 minutes long and has 4 or 5 VOB files....when i import into premiere from the DVD folder, the first file plays great but the coupel after that have a very incorrect aspect ratio....and there are jumps between them.   Figured I would try this....

I followed the directions above a couple times....the resulting masterfile.vob is the currect SIZE in GB......the toal of the original VOB files.

But when I import into Premiere and put it on the timeline, it is only 20 seconds long.....I triple checked my DOS entries at the command line and all the files list out as it is making the new file.....turns out that I was including a coupel of VIB files that were separate video segments and that threw things off...so I finally whittled own the files to the ones I needed...and the seams are now invisible!

BUT --- The whole video is now playing at the wromng format.....540x480.....the video was originally shot in HD and edited that way.......the FIRST VOB file , if used seperately, displays fine.....but the others do not...cropping much of the screen.  And now, in this new master file, the entire thing is cropped wrong.....as in actual video data missing on the screen, regardles of how I modify/interpret the clip.

Any ideas??

.How does the original DVD look and how it is created, in what application?

A DVD is always standard definition, so HD won´t be HD on a DVD disc unless the disc have been created with a application that creates some kind of HD-DVD.
