Hello!
We design hundreds of world maps with Adobe Illustrator
which we want to include in a slideshow and video. Each world map is a
(multi-layered) Adobe Illustrator artwork (.ai). The layers are needed in order
to create animations (such as pulse effects for different dots
on each map). We save each world map as Flash
(*.swf) file which is the standard way for
creating animated maps.
Question 1:
At this point we want to import the .swf files into
"Adobe Lightroom" and/or "Adobe Premiere" in order to
create a slideshow-video. We are unsure what format will work. How can the
*.swf files be imported into Lightroom or Premiere?
Question 2:
What software is more suitable for this project?
"Lightroom" or "Premiere", or both?
Question 3:
If (*.swf) files, cannot be imported, what steps should we take to get importable animated world maps?
Thanks,
Mat
I'm not sure that flash files are going to be your best answer. It may be better to take your Illustrator files into After Effects and re-create the animations there. The re-work should be minimal as AE reads all the layers. These can them be used in PP to create your video.

Premiere does not work with layers from AI. Premiere also does not work with swf. I would use After Effects.
