Smooth ease in to a freeze frame

Currently working on a couple of panning shots that need to stop and freeze earlier than when we shot them.

I've added a freeze frame using time remapping, but trying to ease into the frame makes the footage really jumpy. Is there any way to get around this?

I have done, yeah. I don't think it's a playback issue, I think it's just that the footage is having to be slowed down to be able to ease into the freeze.
