Spacebar to playback not working in Premiere 2024

Using Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1.

 

After re-installing my operating system, I had to re-install Premiere and spacebar to playbac is no longer working.

 

I've tried:

 

  • Clearing the media cache
  • Resetting keyboard shortcuts
  • Uninstalling and re-installing premiere
  • Resetting the project workspace as well as duplicating the project workspace 

 

Please help I am on deadline.
