Hi
To start of: I have tried deleting my media cache. I have reinstalled Premiere Pro several times, and I have enabeled auto save to Cloud. STILL I get the warning every time I start up PP "Running Low on memory". Also I get "unable to draw image. GDI Status "Out of memory". PP moans about not beeing able to create image buffer, and I get a bunch of low level exeptions with "ImporterMPEG(importer 39) and Importer 81"
I have plenty of space on all my drives and 16 gb's of RAM.
Please help!

I Run Windows 11 (22H2) Premiere Pro version 23.0 I always keep it updated. I have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphic card, running on a Dell XPS 8940 i7 computer.
I have attached a few photos of some of the error messages I get. Usually when starting PP. Or as soon as I try to create a new project. (The whole issue seems to have started when I was editing a whole bunch of GoPro-clips into a loong film (1 hour 45 minutes) I was never able to render the film or mix it down. I had to use my laptop to do that. Since then, I have not been able to use PP on my stationary computer, due to all the errors.

Hi Nils,
Sorry. What is the method you are using to delete Media Cache? Are you doing it manually or via Preferences > Media Cache? If the latter, make sure to choose File > Close All Projects before doing so, then choose to delete all media cache (the second option in the dialog box). If you have done that, can you try transcoding or creating proxies for the clips in a test project to see if you have better performance and fewer errors?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi again Kevin
Thank you for the follow up.
I have done as advised.
I don't know what transcoding or proxy clips mean, but I have a feeling that doesn't matter. I have yet again reinstalled PP, never used it in this current install. When I start it up and try to create a blank project I get the memory message (attached photo).
When trying to open other, older projects I yet again get the same error codes as mentioned earlier, the Importer MPEG 39 and 81. So there is no project files to even transcode or create proxies for...

Hi Nils,
Sorry about the confusion. You can rerecord these GoPro clips to another format, like ProRes LT in Media Encoder. These files might be handled better and would avoid some of the errors you are seeing.
You can also create proxies (a second set of lower res media) as an alternative to transcoding. Either way would make for a smoother editing experience. Here's a video describing the process: https://youtu.be/-b8VtZX62XA
If source media is not the issue, your project file might be having trouble. You can create a new project file and import the previous project into the new one. That can work too.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi again Kevin. Thanks for that info. I fear that you arr missing the Main point. My problem has nothing to do with the GoPro files. It happens when ever I start up PP. In it's current state PP is completely useless to me, as I can't even create any kind of project. Is usually crashes on start up.

Hi Nils,
Got it. I apologize. This is one of those errors that are difficult to troubleshoot. So, if it's not your media and you can't start up Premiere Pro, a common troubleshooting step (besides deleting the media cache, which you have done) is to reset preferences. Press the Alt key when starting up Premiere Pro. Choose to reset the preferences in the dialog box.
You can also try a clean reinstallation of your GPU drivers. Download those from the NVIDIA website.
I hope one of these steps will help solve the issue.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi again.
Nope. None of those steps worked. PP is the same... However, I Just discovered a new issue (sorry if this belongs in a different thread) My Creative Cloud Lightroom seems to have the same problem. When I tried to develop a picture, the whole thing crashed. When using the desktop version of Lightroom, it worked fine. Seems to me like there is a graphic memory issue, througout CC. (I use Audition on a daily basis, no problem there)
Thanks for sticking with me

Hi Nils,
Sorry for the continuing hardship. I read that there may be an issue with the current GPU drivers. Can you roll back to 517.40, or is that the driver you're running? Let me know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi, yet again Kevin
So that helped. I will put this in a chapter of "lost in translation". I rolled back my drivers as far as I dared. THEN noticing the "clean install"option. That did the trick! Just out of curiosity I re-installed the newest driver version: 526.98 from november 16th. Again with the clean install. Now things seems to work nicely. Thank you ever so much for your patience. May all your christmases be plenty "memory available". Nils

Hey there, I am having the exact same issue as Nils from the sound of it, but my system says my drivers are up to date and does not let me roll them back to try to clean install again. I have a Dell XPS13 9360 with Windows 11, an i7-8550U (1.8GHz), 8gb ram, and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620. Everything worked fine on Premier Pro CC 20, but I no longer have access to it and I am having the same crash issues as Nils on PP 22 and PP 23. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Bob,
You may not be meeting system requirements for v.23. If you need a version unavailable on Creative Cloud, you can contact support. Ask for the video queue in the chat pod. They should be able to assist you with this request if you explain the situation about your computer. I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @bldvrsn,
Sorry for the error. Do you have the Audio Clip Mixer open? Check out this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/unable-to-fill-rectangle-gdi-status-quot-valueoverf... Did it help? Let us know.
Thanks,

This is a pretty old post. The key troubleshooting technique is to create a new project and import the old one into the new one. Let us know if that might work for you. I hope the advice helps.
Thanks,
Kevin
