Strange glitch after adding effects

After adding effects on certain clips the playback footage glitches with large pink and grey triangles. I applied the same effect to other clips of the same format in the timeline and it was working fine. I have cleared my media cache and the glitch is still occurring. I even bought an external storage device for my computer just to make sure I have enough room but the glitch is still there. I have replaced the clip and reapplied the effect many times. What is this from and how do I fix it??
