STRG-D (blending) is not doing what I want :-(

Hi there!

Assume an imported 30 seconds Photoshop »frame animation«, which actually consists of 60 shots showing a certain working process.

I did manage to do some stabilizing (by »Warp Stabilizer«) throughout the sequence.

But how to create a blending effect between each pair of those 60 stills? I try the STRG-D method on the entire sequence, but the result was some weird »Analyze Banner« printed across nearly every single frame.

What did I do wrong with blending? How to do it better?

Thanks a lot!

Instead of using STRG-D on the whole 60-frame-sequence, I used it on pair after pair of the frames. Had to do it 59 times, but that wasn’t too tedious.

The still slightly unstabilized images did no longer bother the eye, after that.

What is Strg-d method?

You cannot use Warp Staiblizer WS on single still frames.

Try and nest first then apply WS.

Maybe you’re right. Seems I only imagined some progress in terms of image stability 😞

STRG-D seems to be meant to insert some »standard cross-dissolve« between portions of a clip.

Not sure though what nest first means, sorry.

So what is the proper way for me to improve the image stability of my former Photoshop frame animation?

What is the proper way then to add some cross-dissolve effect between the frames?

If you put a cross dissolve on a cut and dont trim the ends back you wont see anything happen. It uses duplicate frames.

Its all gueswork as I do not see any screenshots of what it all consists of.

This frame animation, is it a video file or what?

Post screenshot entire UI and where we clearly see the timeline.

Post screenshot of media properties and sequence settings.

Nest a sequence

Make sure that the Insert And Overwrite Sequences As Nest Or Individual Clips button in the Timeline is enabled.

To nest a sequence in another sequence, use the same editing techniques you might use to edit a clip into the sequence, including those described below.

Create a nested sequence from clips already in a sequence

  1. Select the clips you want to include in the new nested sequence.
  2. Right-click the selected clips, and choose Nest.
  3. Enter a name for the new sequence, and click OK.

The new nested sequence replaces the selected clips in the current sequence and appears in the Project panel.
