Hey swarm,

so I opened the project that I've created with PP version 14.9.0. in PP version 22 and no single subtitle is displayed like in my original, they differ in size, fonts, spacing, color.. everything. I want to have my subtitles back, please let me know how to arrange this easily. gracias

Were all of the previous subtitles the same - size, position, etc.?

If so, then just apply a Caption Track Style in the Essential Graphics Panel.

See the new caption workflow help:

If not, give us more information regarding how they varied.

Hey Stan, thanks for your answer.

I made a film with at least 4 different styles. And sometimes a single subtitles was designed individually. There are around 5000 captions, I worked on it for a month. When I open them in version 14.9.0. they are still alright.

How is it possible, that Adobe ruins all that work? I don't want to learn how to create new subtitles in version 22. I want to have my original subtitles as created for the original film.

In version 22 the position changed, the fonts style, the color, the shadow, the size, the wordwrap, alignment, paragraph, everything.

Yes, the new workflow was so drastically different, I don't know what it would take for all the old style elements to import.  I have not experimented to see whether there is any direct strategy that helps this; for example, importing the old project rather than opening it directly in PR 2022.

First choice: I would finish it in version 14.9.

Second choice: I have not tested this, and believe that PR always had very limited ability to import sidecar files with styling. But I would experiment with exporting from PR 14.9 a sidecar that carries styling including position, font, etc. I'd start with timed text. SRT export from PR, even when "include styling" does not carry much information.

I'll try to play with this later.... Let us know what you find.
