Suggestions for finding mogrt templates - changeable icon

I am new to Premiere and am looking for some simple animations I can use to have a graphic icon pop up for 3 seconds and then disappear. I need to add 60-80 custom graphics throughout the course of a long-form video, so ease of swapping out the icons is essential. Additionally, I need to be able to very easily and quickly change the position of the icon once in use in Premiere.

Up until recently I was doing my video editing in Capcut. Capcut has 1000s of animations built right into the program with no need to import a file like a mogrt, which makes adding extremely easy and fast. Here is a super quick video showing examples of 6 animations I used in Capcut: https://theartofed.wistia.com/medias/y54mtbgrk7

I need to find similar animations for Premiere - they do not need to be exactly the same as these examples, but similar. I am not interested in creating my own mogrts from scratch as we simply do not have the time for me to do so.

I'm struggling to know what terms to search for to find a mogrt file that has a replaceable icon. I've tried many different searches both on Adobe stock and other websites like Envato (and just a good 'ol google search), and am not finding what I need.

I'm open to other solutions besides mogrts too, as long as they are quick and easy to implement in Premiere. Thanks!

Hi @Julia32294477n3ll,

Thanks for your great question. Welcome to the forum and Premiere Pro. Capcut sure has some handy presets there. It would be cool if Premiere Pro had such presets by default. However, you can find them for sale if you search around.

  • Some of these presets creators often give you freebies, like this fellow.

What I just saw in the examples, they are either default transitions or simple effects you can make yourself.

  • You can also make your own presets quickly and easily, here's how. The examples you showed could be done with simple presets that you can create in less than ten minutes for all those effects you showed. We can help you with that.
  • While .mogrts are cool, and you should use them, they might be overkill for what you want to do according to the video you showed. Their strength is for opening titles, or complicated graphics, like showing data. Otherwise, just use the presets you create for specific needs. It's fast.
  • As an aside, After Effects has a library of effects and animation presets you could use if you have access.
  • For content, look to Adobe Express for objects/icons for your projects.
  • You may even want to create a "Production" which is made up of multiple projects, each containing a library of reusable elements, like one for these icons, a sound library, etc.

I hope that makes sense.

I do wish the team would create a "presets browser" or some way to attract those wanting to step up from Capcut. Premiere Pro is more of a hot rod with a ton of customizability both in app and with third party apps. I hope the advice helps. Please return with any questions.

Thanks,

Kevin

@Kevin-Monahan, thank you so much for your kind and thorough explanation. Seeing the freebie from the guy you recommended was enough to get me understanding this and modify his to make some of my own. I think you just saved me a ton of time!! Kudos!!
