Syncing 60fps video to a 25fps project ..?

Here's a problem that's hurting my brain..

I have an old video that was rendered at 25fps..

I'd like to now replace the 25fps video with new HD footage.. but the HD footage is 60fps,

and the old audio was (meticulously) synced to the 25fps footage and doesn't match up with the 60fps footage..

Between the old video, the new video, and the sequence frame rate, is there some way I can get these things to match up? thnx!

One thing I've noticed is that PP isn't especially good at mixing PAL and ATSC frame rates.

Using 25 or 50 in the same project, you're good.

Using 24, 30 or 60 in the same project, you're good.

Mixing the first group with the second, not so much.

    That is so true.

    I try to avoid ntsc footage at all cost as I am living in a pal-country.

    If I have ntsc footage I need in a pal project I convert it first in Ae.

      Interesting question. Sort of scratching my head. Because if you have 1 second of audio with 60fps video and 1 second of audio with 25fps video the length of the audio should always be 1 second. The difference is you are just capturing more video frames per second during the duration of the audio. So I would think that the audio and video should line.

      Why 60fps and not 50fps? 50fps would be the logical way to go because now you are mixing standards.

      Are the sample rates of your audio different?

      Does the audio start in sync and then drift apart?

      What are the camera and audio devices used for capture?

        The sample rates are the same, but the video doesn't align.. it's actually quite a mess.. it may be a lost cause lol.. the original source is a rip of a rip of a dvd, and the new footage is a screen recording of a dvd clip,, so i may have to sync frame by frame :$

        What's the best way to copy all a DVD's files to ones hard drive, btw? Thnx!


        Windows explorer. Make a directory on the hard drive. From the DVD, drag the VIDEO_TS folder to it.
