Question

Syncronize video with audio

Hello,
I have a question to you all experts: I use Audition to syncronize two audios. The audio that is getting affected is linked to a video on Premiere. Is it possible to have the linked video stretching along with the audio in order to keep more or less the same footage along certain words?

Fore example the original video says ''... and the palms of Brazil...'' showing the palms in that moment. If I syncronize the audio and the word palms move somewhere else, is it possible to have the video follow the new audio and still going along?

Thanks for you expertise!

Hi Gino,

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to achieve. Can you describe the two audio files you need to synchronize and why they need to be synchronized?

Synchronizing aligns multiple clips using a common element like timecode, markers, or audio waveforms. You can do this directly on the timeline in Premiere Pro by selecting your clips and choosing Clip > Synchronize.

Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for your reply.

Basically I have a video with audio1. And an audio2 in another language that is the translation of audio1, and as such has a different lenght.
I need the video and audio1 to go at the same pace as audio2.

I  can use Adobe Audition to have audio1 go at the same pace as audio2 but how I get the video also to follow the new lenght? I can't use syncronise because they have different lenght and waveform, and I can't simply stretch the whole video because then the clips do not match correctly the new audio.

Is it possible to align the video somehow based on the audio? Or even based on the subtitles..

Thank you very much!

Thanks for providing more details, Gino.

I think it will be much easier to add Audio 2 in Premiere Pro. Then you can mute Audio 1, and you can extend the length of your video clips, retime them, or add a freeze frame. Using Audition isn't ideal for working with video files.

Paul
