Terrible lag when zooming/repositioning in 22.1.1

Premiere Pro 22.1.1

Ryzen 9 5950x

RTX 3080ti

64gb DDR4

4k ProRes HQ 24p

Hi, for the last few months I have desparately tried to find a solution to my strange problem. I am experiencing terrible lag/stutter when trying to zoom or reposition clips in Premiere Pro, however, it is much smoother in Beta. DaVinci Resolve handles it better than both of those two. I have tried many things including reinstalling, using different video drivers, clearing media cache, different hard drives and nothing works. Please can someone provide some guidance (no, permanently using the Beta is not an option as last week it was crashing every 5 minutes).

Please see the attached video for examples in Premiere Pro, Premiere Pro Beta, and DaVinci Resolve.

Correct answer BrettDuncan

Resolved: Anyone who is having a weird stuttering issue with their system and has an ASUS Motherboard...get rid of their ArmouryCrate Software and possibly AURA RGB. That is what was messing up Premiere...somehow.

One is 4k ProRes 24p and the other is 1080p h264 screen recording. I
have tried removing the screen recording as well as all of the audio
to see if that would help but it doesn't. This even happens on my
other system (9700k - RTX 2070), but it works perfectly fine on my M1
MacBook as well as a VM I have with a Radeon RX 6700XT...thinking
maybe a CUDA/NVIDIA issue? Idk...

Hi Brett,

Sorry about this. Is it possible to try a brand new project? Which version are you working with? 22.1.1? Have you tried 22.0? Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

did you try to reset the preferences and clean media cache?

Yes I have. I have also tried on another computer with a 9700k and
2070 Super...same result. I moved the project to my M1 MacBook and it
works smoothly.
