text based editing for multicam- deleted segments get black screens

Question

hi! I am trying to apply text based editing to my multicam video, here is what I have done:

1. put the 2 videos into a bin, then generated the multicam video

2. transcribed the source audio

the problem is here: when i delete segments using the transcript, the time that the deleted segment becomes a black screen (for example, if i delete, using the text based editor, a 6 second segment, i get 6 seconds of a silent black screen instead of moving striaght on to the following segment)

i am completely new to premiere pro so would appreciate any advice. thank you so much!

Text-based editing with multicam sequences may not work as you expect, but I can't find my notes at the moment.

But I think Kevin is right: this is an extract vs lift issue. I am assuming you are selecting a section of transcript (with the automatically set in/out points set in the Text panel) and then hitting the Delete key. This is the same as using the semicolon shortcut: it EXTRACTS the selected text (and video/audio) and leaves a "hole" in the clip. The shortcut for LIFT is the apostrophe key. It will ripple delete.

You can also use the extract/lift icons in the Text panel or in the Program monitor.

If this doesn't make sense or does not work correctly for you, post back and we'll get it sorted. Screenshots might help.
