Question

Text flickering in Premiere Pro

I am working on a video project where I need to covered part of the video with text. I have the text on a seperate layer over the video with the background turned on to cover the video beneath. The text is stationary, but when I render the clip in Premiere, it looks like it is flickering. This happens when I export as well. I've tried removing the background and layering it above a plain graphic, but it still flickers. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Hi there

Sorry about the issue. Have you tried exporting it through "Software Only"? https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/faq-how-to-change-the-video-renderer-in-premiere-pro-and-adobe-media-encoder/td-p/9851383

Also, do you have any effects on the layer?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika

Exporting it though "Software Only" seems to have solved the issue in most cases. I didn't have any effects on the text layers.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @michell5DAF,

Thanks for the message. Following up, if Software Only rendering helped you, then GPU accelerated rendering was amiss. That may be due to an outdated video driver. It could also be if you are using a computer not meeting system requirements and working with a sequence that is too demanding for that computer. Info about your computer's CPU/GPU/RAM/HD, the OS you are using, the media you are using, and the sequence settings for your sequence will help the community diagnose the issue further.

Thanks,
Kevin
